The Las Vegas Raiders have confirmed the signing of second-round pick (35th overall) Michael Mayer. The Edgewood, KY product, by way of Notre Dame can now focus on the playbook, and getting in shape for a grueling NFL schedule.
The need to use such a high pick on a tight end came after the team traded away superstar TE Darren Waller, who was sent to the NY Giants for a compensatory 3rd round pick. Mayer has some big shoes to fill, but the consensus seems to be that he is up for the challenge.
